Audition Process
•Students must audition into the Performance concentration after enrolling as a music major
•Must have no grade lower than C- in all completed music courses
•Students on academic probation are ineligible to audition
•Optional audition before MVNU music faculty for scholarship consideration
•Audition in your major applied area (voice, keyboard, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, or composition)
•Prepare two selections from different style periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Twentieth Century)
•Instrumentalists may prepare one selection if it demonstrates both lyrical and technical aspects
•Material does not need to be memorized
•Recorded auditions accepted (YouTube links preferred)
•Due Dec. 10, 2026 for fall or Feb. 18, 2027 for spring; application due one week before the recording deadline
