Audition Process
•Bullet: Auditions are required for admission to the Music major and minor and help determine scholarship awards.
•Bullet: Complete the university admission application and receive MSMU admission approval before requesting the Music audition.
•Bullet: Complete the Music Department Application Form with the audition video.
•Bullet: A music instructor recommendation, emailed to the Music Department c/o Dr. Kim Nguyen Tran (knguyentran@msmu.edu), must be received before the online interview is scheduled.
•Bullet: Schedule and complete a required online interview with Music Department personnel.
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Faculty review musical talent, goals, and how applicants see themselves contributing to the Music Department.
•Bullet: All Music Department applications and interviews are submitted online.
Post-Enrollment
•Bullet: Accepted Music Department students receive a link to sign up for the theory placement exam.
•Bullet: The theory placement exam is for course placement after acceptance, not an admission gateway.
