Audition Process
•Select an audition date via the audition form
•Department will confirm the date with you
•Audition time confirmed one week in advance
•Email auditions@mssu.edu to notify of intent to audition virtually
•Record on phone or computer with camera at eye level
•Upload to YouTube as unlisted
•Send the link to auditions@mssu.edu
Audition Expectations
•Must complete both vocal and theatre audition requirements
•Prepared selections should not exceed 7 minutes total
•Choose selections that show your ability, range, and performing skills
•Dress professionally and comfortably
•Before performing, slate with your name and selections; for theatre pieces include character name, play title, and playwright
•Do not include a synopsis, character description, or theme discussion in the slate
•MSSU pianist can be provided for vocal selections
•Bring sheet music in a 3-ring binder (original or copy)
•Karaoke-style accompaniment may be used for video auditions
