Audition Process
•Bullet: Select an audition date via the audition form
•Bullet: Department will confirm the date with you
•Bullet: Audition time confirmed one week in advance
•Bullet: Email auditions@mssu.edu to notify of intent to audition virtually
•Bullet: Record on phone or computer with camera at eye level
•Bullet: Upload to YouTube as unlisted
•Bullet: Send the link to auditions@mssu.edu
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Must complete both vocal and theatre audition requirements
•Bullet: Prepared selections should not exceed 7 minutes total
•Bullet: Choose selections that show your ability, range, and performing skills
•Bullet: Dress professionally and comfortably
•Bullet: Before performing, slate with your name and selections; for theatre pieces include character name, play title, and playwright
•Bullet: Do not include a synopsis, character description, or theme discussion in the slate
•Bullet: MSSU pianist can be provided for vocal selections
•Bullet: Bring sheet music in a 3-ring binder (original or copy)
•Bullet: Karaoke-style accompaniment may be used for video auditions
