•Bachelor of Music in Worship Leadership, instrumental concentration — trains instrumentalists to lead worship in the local church
•MBU Music Department is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
•Christ-centered training in the School of Performing Arts, College of Arts & Humanities
Training
•Music major core (30 hrs): theory, four levels of sight-singing/ear training, three music history courses, conducting, and recital attendance
•Worship Leadership core (29 hrs): Foundations of Worship, Congregational Song, Worship Technology, Worship Leadership, Theatrical Arts and the Church, audio/video production, and Christian ministry foundations
•Instrumental concentration: private lessons, Instrumental Methods, and a required large instrumental ensemble
Performance & Productions
•Capstone Senior Recital on the student's instrument
•Instrumentalists play in MBU Bands and back Spirit Wing worship teams (Blue/on-campus chapel band, acoustic Red Team, Green Team)
Professional Development
•Required Christian Ministry Internship places students in active church worship ministries
Degree Flexibility
•An 18-hour Worship minor is available for students in other majors
