Training
•Music major core (31 hrs): four semesters each of theory and sight-singing/ear training, music technology, three music history courses, conducting, and recital attendance
•Instrumental concentration (33 hrs): private lessons, studio class, a required large instrumental ensemble, and a small ensemble
•Business core: macro/microeconomics, accounting principles, business ethics, an elective from financial management, business law, entrepreneurship, management, or marketing, plus BUMU 473 Internship in Music Business
Performance & Productions
•Capstone Senior Recital on the student's instrument
•Instrumentalists play in MBU Bands; additional outlets include MBU Ringers (handbells) and Opera Theatre
•MBU offers 12 performance groups, most of which carry scholarships

•Required music-business internship (BUMU 473) connects performance training to artist management, publishing, and the music industry
