Audition Process
•No audition is required for BA Music admission.
•Optional music scholarship auditions/interviews are available to majors, minors, music concentrations, and ensemble participants.
•Live scholarship auditions and interviews are held by the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, with virtual auditions available by request.
•Complete the Music Scholarship Application and contact Dr. Erik Anderson to request an audition/interview date.
Audition Expectations
•Contact the professor in your performance area to choose audition repertoire, etudes, scales, or other materials.
•If repertoire uses piano accompaniment, arrange a pianist or request a no-charge MSU audition pianist.
•Virtual audition applicants submit video links no later than one week before the scheduled interview.
Post-Enrollment
•Entry into the Keyboard Performance concentration requires passing the Sophomore Screening process after enrollment.
•Students admitted into a performance concentration typically add upper-level private study leading to the senior project.
