Audition Process
•Bullet: No audition is required for BA Music admission.
•Bullet: Optional music scholarship auditions/interviews are available to majors, minors, music concentrations, and ensemble participants.
•Bullet: Live scholarship auditions and interviews are held by the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, with virtual auditions available by request.
•Bullet: Complete the Music Scholarship Application and contact Dr. Erik Anderson to request an audition/interview date.
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Contact the professor in your performance area to choose audition repertoire, etudes, scales, or other materials.
•Bullet: If repertoire uses piano accompaniment, arrange a pianist or request a no-charge MSU audition pianist.
•Bullet: Virtual audition applicants submit video links no later than one week before the scheduled interview.
Post-Enrollment
•Bullet: Entry into the Keyboard Performance concentration requires passing the Sophomore Screening process after enrollment.
•Bullet: Students admitted into a performance concentration typically add upper-level private study leading to the senior project.
