Training
•Bullet: The Music Minor requires 17.5-19.5 credit hours: MUSC 103 Music Colloquium (1 hr), MUSC 125 Keyboard Fundamentals or MUSC 143 Basic Music Theory/Ear Training (1-3 hrs), MUSC 141 Music Theory Fundamentals or MUSC 143 (2-3 hrs), and MUSC 265 Survey of Classical and Film Music (3 hrs)
•Bullet: Six hours of music electives chosen from MUSC 143, 144, 211, 250, 363, 369, or 454, plus three semesters of a primary ensemble (1 hr/semester) and three semesters of applied music study in the student's principal area (1.5 hrs)
•Bullet: Applied music study may be in voice, piano, organ, guitar, brass, woodwinds, strings, or percussion; minors take a jury each semester in their principal applied area
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Minors join a primary ensemble matched to their applied study - Concert Choir, Women's Chorale, Johnson City Community Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble, or Orchestra
•Bullet: 75% concert and recital attendance is required across four semesters
