Application Logistics

Complete the Milligan admissions application

Complete the Performing Arts Scholarship application and indicate your preferred audition date

The first-time student application page lists no application fee

Eligibility

Each student may apply for only one performing arts scholarship

Both non-majors and music majors are eligible

Important Notes

Milligan reviews first-time student applications on a rolling basis as long as space is available

Apply by December 1 for maximum scholarship and financial-aid consideration

Admitted students complete a piano proficiency requirement after enrollment — for course placement, not admission

What's The Process

Audition Process

A music-faculty audition determines performance-scholarship consideration; admission to the major is through the university application

Instrumentalists and pianists perform two contrasting pieces

The on-campus audition is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2027; applicants may request another date or submit a video audition instead

Audition Expectations

An accompanist is provided for on-campus auditions

Remote auditions may use a YouTube or other video-format link

Music Performance Scholarship

Competitive, renewable scholarship awarded to a limited number of students each year

Awarded to students who exhibit excellent performance ability and potential, identified through audition

Performance scholarships are available for concert choir, orchestra, women's chorale, piano, and musical theatre

Both non-majors and music majors are eligible

Awards become part of the total institutional package offered by the university
