•Declare the dance major after enrollment — no separate departmental application
•University application fee: $75 (waiver available)
OPTIONAL ARTS SUPPLEMENT
•Submit 2-3 performance and/or choreography samples via SlideRoom
•Identify yourself if you are not the soloist
•Not required but may strengthen your admissions application
TRACK REQUIREMENTS
•Five foundational courses required before specializing: Creative Process, Technique & Composition, Improvisational Practices, Dance History, Anatomy & Kinesiology
•Track-specific courses include Choreography & Performance (DANC 0360) and Performance & Production (DANC 0460)
•11 courses total for the full major
SENIOR CAPSTONE
•Senior Work (DANC 0700) required — often culminates in performance
•Research Methods (DANC 0500) also required

•Students are admitted to Middlebury College, then declare the dance major
•No audition, portfolio, or interview required to declare
•Open to all enrolled Middlebury students
•First-years encouraged to take dance classes and attend concerts before declaring
