Training
•BS in Audio Technology does not require an audition or demonstrated musical-performance competency — admission runs on the university application plus a required supplemental portfolio
•Comprehensive, interdisciplinary curriculum combines audio technology with music and STEM coursework: transducer theory, digital audio theory, electronics, and computer programming
•Requires a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering minor, and recommends MTH 162 Calculus II or PHY 221 University Physics I in addition to the required Calculus I
Professional Development
•A required internship and capstone project in the final semester give students practical industry experience before graduation
•Four semesters of recital recording/sound-reinforcement practicum provide hands-on live and studio audio experience throughout the degree
Degree Flexibility
•Students choose between an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering minor to shape the technical half of the degree toward hardware or software strengths
