•Bullet: BM in Studio Music and Jazz - Instrumental trains jazz instrumentalists across Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, and Vibraphone, each with its own audition specialist faculty contact
•Bullet: Program mission is to prepare jazz instrumentalists for the music profession or graduate school, producing recordings for the Down Beat Student Music Awards and campus radio/Internet broadcast
•Bullet: Curriculum covers performance, composition/arranging, technology, conducting, and scholarship alongside on- and off-campus performance opportunities
Professional Development
•Bullet: A prescreen video is required for every applicant; approved applicants audition live on campus (in-person is required for Jazz Bass and Jazz Drums specifically) following the requirements published for their instrument
Facilities
•Bullet: Jazz Vibraphone repertoire and audition format are set by Professor Errol Rackipov, who also fields applicant repertoire questions directly
