Training
•BM in Media Scoring and Production pairs a required performance prescreen/audition on the applicant's principal instrument with a dedicated portfolio review (original scores, produced tracks, or arrangements)
•Program is designed to prepare composers and producers for media, combining diverse writing assignments (composing, scoring, producing) with recording-studio technical practice
•Prospective students are expected to show evidence of writing/production creativity along with basic digital-audio-workstation and music-notation skills
Professional Development
•Capstone course MSP 401 requires students to develop and compile a portfolio of creative works — recordings, videos, songs, scores, and other media — showcasing their individual artistry
•Portfolio submissions are reviewed independently of the instrumental audition, so scoring/production craft is judged on its own merits
Degree Flexibility
•Students choose from three portfolio submission tracks (original scores, produced tracks, or arrangements) to best showcase their strengths going into the application
