Training
•BA in Music Industry is the only Frost School of Music degree that does not require applicants to be musicians or to prescreen/audition — admission is via the university application plus a supplemental essay
•Program has run since 1966 and has repeatedly been named among Billboard magazine's top music industry programs
•Faculty are "pracademics" — working professionals as well as scholars — who bring current industry activity into coursework covering how each sector of the business has evolved and where it is heading
Professional Development
•Extracurricular activities put students to work through internships, student-run music enterprises, and music-industry organizations and clubs from their first semester
•Coursework spans music industry, music, music technology, English and communications, STEM, and foreign language electives, preparing graduates for roles at record companies, publishers, talent agencies, digital music services, and artist management firms
Degree Flexibility
•The no-audition BA track lets non-performing students with a strong business or media interest pursue a music-industry credential without a principal-instrument audition
