Scholarship Materials
•If applying for Music Talent Scholarship consideration, provide a resume detailing school and community music activities, awards, and recognitions
•Recommendation letter(s) from one or more music professionals familiar with your work
•Essay (one to two typed pages) describing your involvement with music, addressing: what initially interested you in music, how you continued your musical study, what part music plays in your life now, your hopes and dreams for the future, and what role music will play in your life ten years from now
•Optional online portfolio URL for musical or audition material
Piano Repertoire
•Play three works of contrasting character that represent your best work and your background and interests
•At least two selections should be classical works from the baroque, classical, romantic, and/or 20th-21st century eras
•If you have a jazz or popular background, one work may demonstrate skill in those styles
•At least two of the works should be memorized
•The audition includes an assessment of scales, chord progressions, arpeggios, and sight-reading
Organ Repertoire
•Play three pieces: a work of Bach, a work by a composer other than Bach, and a hymn
Voice Repertoire
•Prepare two songs of contrasting nature that show you to your best advantage
•Both selections should be memorized
Strings Repertoire
•Prepare one three-octave scale, one etude, and one piece of your choosing
Winds & Percussion Repertoire
•Prepare at least two pieces of contrasting character and at least one representative technical study or etude for your instrument
