Apply via Common App or the Mercer Application before scheduling a music audition

Audition registration for music opens in July

Completing the FAFSA is not required but is highly encouraged

Teacher Certification

BME majors earn P-12 teacher education certification in music

Core education coursework is completed through the Tift College of Education

The degree culminates in a semester of student teaching in the senior year

What's The Process

Audition Process

Apply to Mercer University through Admissions before scheduling an audition

On-campus auditions are required for students who live within 300 miles of Macon, GA

A digital audition may be submitted if distance makes a live audition difficult

Contact the Music Office to schedule an audition outside the posted dates

Principal-Instrument Audition

Audition on your principal instrument or voice using that area's requirements (Voice, Winds, Piano, Organ, Guitar, Percussion, or Harp)

Vocalists are asked to sight-sing and have a short interview with the voice faculty after performing

Audition Expectations

Approximately 20 minutes in length

Heard by the appropriate area music faculty

Scholarship Info

Music Scholarships

All students who audition are considered for music scholarships

Scholarship recipients notified within 2-3 weeks of the audition date

Must be accepted to Mercer University before a scholarship can be offered

Fabian Scholarship applicants must audition by March 1
