Training
•About 65% of required credits concentrate on the major instrument and supporting music coursework
•Double credit hours awarded for applied guitar lessons starting sophomore year, recognizing the added practice load
•Weekly private lessons from the first semester, plus weekly studio classes
•Monthly recitals, semester-end juried examinations, junior and senior recitals
•Pedagogy and literature coursework specific to guitar
•12 additional music elective credits plus 39 General Education credits through the Common Core
Performance & Productions
•Participation in at least one ensemble each semester, with most students performing in more than one
