Training
•Bullet: The BA in Theatre Arts Education pairs dramatic-arts study, practice and performance with curriculum and instruction. Students pursuing teacher certification complete the required Curriculum and Instruction minor.
•Bullet: Theatre-focused coursework may include Improving Voice and Diction, Creative Drama, Stagecraft, Theatre Arts in the Secondary School, theatre history and dramatic literature, stage combat and directing.
Teaching Practice
•Bullet: McMurry's theatre-company model is designed to prepare future educators to manage, rebuild or launch school theatre programs as well as teach performance and production skills.
•Bullet: The program culminates in a theatre capstone and prepares graduates for settings from early-childhood through high-school classrooms, including special-education, cultural and professional-theatre contexts.
