Training
•The BA in Music develops theoretical understanding and technical proficiency through music theory, aural skills, class piano, music history, orchestration and arranging, and study across musical genres.
•The degree requires at least 120 credits, including 39 advanced hours.
Performance
•Music majors participate in an ensemble and attend recitals in each of eight semesters, making collaborative performance a continuous part of the degree.
•Small classes and individual attention from professors support each student's progress as a musician.
Pathways
•The combination of ear training, theory and performance can support work in composition, choral or instrumental direction, songwriting, production and other music fields.
