Brass and woodwinds: prepare one solo work or etude showing lyrical and technical style; also prepare a one-octave chromatic scale and several major scales.

Percussion: prepare a solo work or etude on mallets, snare, or timpani.

Keyboard: prepare two contrasting pieces.

Visual and Performing Arts Division Award: $3,000 annually for ensemble participation.

State Music Educators Association Achievement Award: up to $5,000 annually for qualifying state association participants.

Music awards may stack with academic awards, but not with one another.
