Training
•The 78-credit professional curriculum includes four semesters each of theory and ear training, analytical techniques, philosophy and aesthetics, orchestration and arranging, conducting, music history, ethnomusicology, and 20 hours of applied theory or composition study that can include music synthesis and MIDI technology
Performance & Productions
•Students complete eight ensemble hours and present a full senior recital
Professional Development
•A two-semester faculty-guided senior study, an internship, pedagogy in the applied field, and focused work in historical forms and contemporary music technology support preparation for graduate study and composition work
