Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Repertoire

•Two prepared pieces in contrasting historical styles on your applied instrument (organ, voice, or piano); organ applicants audition on the Wilhelm tracker organ where possible

Scales & Technique

•Major and minor scales, plus sight-reading at the audition

Letters of Recommendation (Required)

•Two recommendation forms with comments from a teacher, principal, etc.

•Sealed forms submitted by mail or delivered at the audition

Questionnaire (Required)

•Audition for Entrance/Scholarship Form completed prior to the audition

Transfer Pathway

Transfer BMus Music Performance applicants in Church Music may bring up to 90 four-year or 74 two-year credits, subject to evaluation, and must still complete the published music entrance audition.
