•MacEwan Department of Theatre offers two BFA majors: Music Theatre Performance and Theatre Production.
Training
•Conservatory-style training in acting, singing and dancing is paired with music theory, ear training, auditioning, stage combat and career management.
•Students work with educators who are also professional theatre directors, actors, musical directors and choreographers.
Performance & Productions
•Students complete performance practicum work in at least two fully staged public performances as part of MacEwan Theatre Season.
•Recent production examples include Heathers, Glory!, Sunday in the Park with George, London Road, Spring Awakening, Company, The Drowsy Chaperone, Urinetown, Guys and Dolls, and Nice Work If You Can Get It.
Professional Development
•The program emphasizes professional etiquette, creative collaboration and preparation for local, national and international theatre careers.
Facilities
•Students train in Allard Hall and perform in MacEwan theatre spaces including the Triffo Theatre.
Location
•Edmonton is home to more than 60 theatre companies and North America's first and biggest fringe festival.
