•Performance-focused jazz track within the BA in Music; catalog coursework covers jazz improvisation, jazz music history, and jazz composition and arranging alongside applied lessons
•Supervised by Dr. Christopher Madsen, a saxophonist, composer, and educator active on the Chicago scene
•Studio faculty are working Chicago jazz professionals, including Matt Ulery (bass and composition), trumpeter Victor Garcia, vocalist Alyssa Allgood, guitarist Kyle Asche, and drummer Jon Deitemyer
Performance & Productions
•Jazz Ensemble of roughly 18 musicians, plus several small jazz combos
•BA in Music capstone culminates in a solo recital
