Audition Process

Schedule a Department of Music audition early in the university application process

Auditions may be completed in person or by submitting a recorded video (.mov or .mp4) that shows a head-to-toe view of the applicant

An audition is required before a student may officially declare a music major

Continuation Gate

At the end of the second year, music majors must pass the department's proficiency series before enrolling in 300-level applied music

Students who do not pass receive one semester for remedial applied study; continued degree progress is then determined by the music faculty
