•Fully memorized

•Should demonstrate your ability to play a character

•One classical and one contemporary, OR one dramatic and one comedic

•Audition observed by Theatre Academy Chair and Academy Acting faculty

Application Logistics

•No application fee to LACC Theatre Academy

Enrollment

•If accepted to the Academy, must also apply to Los Angeles City College

•Full-time commitment required — block program of classes

•No night or Saturday classes in the Theatre Academy program

•Certificate of Achievement — general education requirements for the associate degree are taken outside the Theatre Academy program

Admission Pathway

•Pass TA 200 (Introduction to Acting) to enter the conservatory the following semester

•Day and night classes available for TA 200

Audition Process

•Complete the Acting Program online application

•You will receive an email with instructions and a video upload link

•Submit a single monologue video (2-5 min)

•Faculty evaluate your submission and email follow-up information

Audition Expectations

•If invited, prepare two contrasting monologues for in-person audition

•Audition observed by Theatre Academy Chair and Academy Acting faculty
