TWO CONTRASTING MONOLOGUES

One from LAMDA's Classical Monologue List (max 3 min)
One contemporary speech of your choice (max 2 min)

GUIDELINES

Monologues must function as standalone pieces
You may edit text but ensure it flows as a whole
LAMDA prefers work prepared without outside help or direction
Any gender monologues accepted

SELF-TAPE SUBMISSION (UK/INTERNATIONAL)

14 days from admissions email to submit link with password
Record your two contrasting monologues
North American applicants audition in person instead

Callback Requirements

Monologues

WORKSHOP AUDITION

Same two monologues performed live
Possible additional exercises and redirections
Panel may ask you to try pieces in a different way
Have additional monologues ready to perform

NORTH AMERICA

Approximately 15 minutes with potential redirections

UK and International applicants apply via UCAS
Then complete LAMDA application through Ellucian gateway
US-based applicants may apply directly to LAMDA

PATHWAYS PROGRAMME

Members receive application fee waivers
Do not need to apply through UCAS
Must apply to Pathways Programme before course application

What's The Process

PRESCREEN (UK/INTERNATIONAL)

Self-tape submission — 14 days from admissions email to submit link with password
If successful, invited to in-person workshop (London, Newcastle, Manchester, Belfast)
Possible second workshop, then final recall in-person at LAMDA
Extra fee applies for final recall
Pathways Programme members may qualify for financial assistance

FIRST ROUND (NORTH AMERICA)

In-person auditions across US and Toronto (Jan-Feb 2026)
Recall in Los Angeles or New York — no additional charge

ELIGIBILITY

No academic prerequisites
Minimum age 18
Non-native English speakers need IELTS 7.0 if offered a place

NOTIFICATION

Results within 2-3 weeks of recall
May be offered a place, waitlisted, or unsuccessful
