TWO CONTRASTING MUSICAL THEATRE SONGS
•Perform with music accompaniment where possible (best reflects vocal and interpretive abilities)
•Backing track acceptable if live accompaniment unavailable
•Only sing unaccompanied if neither option is accessible
•Ensure your voice can be heard above the accompaniment

•3-minute maximum personal statement video

•Discuss your relationship and experience with Musical Theatre
•Explain why you are interested in the course
DANCE FOLLOW-UP (POSSIBLE)
•Depending on dance experience, may be asked to submit a follow-up self-tape demonstrating dance ability

TWO CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUES
•Alternative: self-devised or choreographed dance/movement piece (max 5 min)
•If performing dance piece, bring your own portable music system and speaker
•Any gender monologues accepted

•No UCAS required for postgraduate courses

What's The Process
PRESCREEN (UK/INTERNATIONAL)
•Self-tape submission — 14 days from admissions email to submit link with password
•Submit two MT songs (accompaniment preferred) plus 3-minute video introduction
•If successful, may be asked for dance follow-up self-tape
•Recall auditions held in-person in London
•Recall fee waived for Musical Theatre
FIRST ROUND (NORTH AMERICA)
•In-person auditions across US and Toronto (Jan-Feb 2026)
•Prepare songs unaccompanied plus monologues or dance piece
•Musical Theatre recall in New York — March 7, 2026
•Can also be considered for acting courses by adding monologues
ELIGIBILITY
•Must be 21 or older
•Undergraduate degree in Musical Theatre or professional performance experience/credits required
•Non-native English speakers need IELTS 7.0 (7.0 in each sub-test)
NOTIFICATION
•Results within 2-3 weeks of recall

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
•UK student loans and US federal loans eligible
SCHOLARSHIPS
•Leverhulme Arts Scholarships — £3,000-£12,000 per annum towards fees and/or maintenance
•Overstall Musical Theatre Scholarship — £10,000 towards fees and/or maintenance
