Audition Process
•Bullet: In-person audition preferred; online audition also available
•Bullet: Staff accompanist provided for in-person auditions
•Bullet: Bring printed sheet music for the accompanist if desired
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Performance on your primary instrument: two pieces of contrasting style
•Bullet: Major and minor scales and arpeggios
•Bullet: Sight-reading may be asked
•Bullet: Interview with faculty discussing your interest in music performance, career goals, and contribution to the department
•Bullet: Audition Day: 8:00-8:30 AM arrival, 8:30-10:10 AM auditions, 10:10 AM-12:40 PM sessions (conducting, building tour, faculty meet, lunch), 1:00-2:00 PM ensemble rehearsal
