Audition Process
•In-person audition preferred; online audition also available
•Staff accompanist provided for in-person auditions
•Bring printed sheet music for the accompanist
Audition Expectations
•Performance on your primary instrument demonstrating musical ability
•Vocalists: one or two songs of contrasting style (art song recommended; musical theatre or jazz also acceptable)
•Instrumentalists: one or two pieces of contrasting style
•You may also perform on a secondary instrument or voice type, especially if you plan to participate in a variety of ensembles
•Interview with faculty about your interest in a music degree, potential careers, and your rationale for a BA in Music
•Audition Day: 8:00-8:30 AM arrival, 8:30-10:10 AM auditions, 10:10 AM-12:40 PM sessions (conducting, building tour, faculty meet, lunch), 1:00-2:00 PM ensemble rehearsal
