Songs
TWO 32-BAR SONG EXCERPTS
•Must be from a Broadway musical
•One ballad selection
•One up-tempo selection
•At least one selection must be prior to 1965
ACCOMPANIMENT
•Accompanist provided for in-person auditions
•Sheet music must be in a 3-ring binder with clearly marked start and stop points
•Sheet music must be in the correct key
Monologues
ONE 60-SECOND MONOLOGUE
•Must be memorized
•One speaking character only
•From a published, contemporary play — no books or movies
•No props or costumes
•Must be age-appropriate
•May be worked by the faculty during audition
Dance
GROUP DANCE CALL
•Held at 12:30 PM in Green Hall 1008 (Rehearsal Room 1)
•Short Musical Theatre dance routine taught to auditionees
GENRE SPECIALTIES
•Opportunity to show additional dance genre specialties following the group call (e.g., tap, ballet)
•Bring optional shoes for specialty presentation (e.g., tap shoes)

What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•In-person auditions OR video submission accepted
•Students are given two attempts to pass the BFA entrance audition
•Email theatre@liberty.edu to sign up for an in-person audition slot
IN-PERSON AUDITIONS
•9 AM to noon in Green Hall 1004 (Rehearsal Room 2)
•Dance call at 12:30 PM in Green Hall 1008 (Rehearsal Room 1)
•Bring headshot and current resume
VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
•May be submitted anytime during the academic year
•Email video, digital headshot, and resume to theatre@liberty.edu
•May be contacted for a Skype or in-person interview after submission
COMBINED AUDITION
•Students auditioning for both BFA Musical Theatre and BFA Acting can do a combined audition
•Includes requirements from both programs (two monologues, two songs, dance call)
