Program Recognition
•Bullet: National Association of Schools of Music accredited School of Music.
•Bullet: 120-123 credit hour BS in Commercial Music, marketed as "strategically designed for non-performers" seeking versatility across the music industry.
Training
•Bullet: Core coursework spans Commercial Music Theory I & II, Survey of Commercial Music Literature, Commercial Music Production and Audio, Contemporary Music and Studio Direction, Commercial Music Technology I & II (Notation/DAW and DAW Applications), Fundamentals of Sound Reinforcement, and Entrepreneurship in Commercial Music Community, capped by a Commercial Music Capstone or Commercial Music Apprenticeship.
•Bullet: Unlike the BM in Commercial Music's six specialized concentrations (Performance, Jazz Studies, Film Scoring, Publishing and Producing, Recording/Engineering/Producing, Songwriting), the BS carries no concentration tracks; the 2026-2027 catalog degree plan replaces concentration coursework with 25-28 credit hours of free electives.
