•Students apply through LPC Admissions & Records / CCCApply and plan transfer coursework with music faculty or counselors

•Completion of the AA-T gives a streamlined pathway to a CSU campus with a Music or similar major

Course Planning

•MUS 38 Applied Lessons must be taken four times for the degree

•Applied Lessons require concurrent enrollment in music theory/musicianship and a performing ensemble

•LPC strongly recommends Music Literature and piano coursework before transfer placement exams

What's The Process

Admission Process

•Open enrollment community college degree with no admission audition or prescreen

•Apply and enroll through LPC Admissions & Records / CCCApply

•Summer and Fall 2026 registration is open on the Music Department page

Post-Enrollment Gate

•The degree requires four semesters of MUS 38 Applied Lessons

•New students audition for a spot in the Applied Program after enrolling in the required theory/musicianship and performing-ensemble courses

•An add code for MUS 38 is emailed pending a successful audition

Scholarship Info

Scholarships

•LPC Foundation and Performing Arts scholarships are available; applications generally open every spring and are due by early March

•The Mertes Memorial Performing Arts Transfer Scholarship is open to students pursuing theater, dance, or music and transferring to an accredited four-year institution

•Awards can cover up to the full cost of attendance, up to $15,000, at the transfer institution
