Transfer Pathway
•Associate Degree for Transfer designed as a streamlined CSU pathway for Music or a similar major
•25-29 unit major covers theory/musicianship, four semesters of applied music, large ensemble participation, and piano preparation
•Students are encouraged to consult music faculty and LPC counselors when planning transfer coursework
Musicianship
•Training emphasizes performance, pitch, tone, balance, expression, memorization, improvisation, and interpretation
•Applied one-on-one lessons are available in voice, composition, piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, and related areas
•Ensemble options include choirs, vocal jazz, jazz ensemble, jazz combos, chamber orchestra, instrumental chamber music, and improvisation lab
Facilities & Outcomes
•All-Steinway School with a Steinway Spirio recording/editing piano
•The Hawks Nest recording studio supports student recording and production work
•LPC music alumni have transferred to UCLA, the New School, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Berklee, and other music programs
