Training
•Common lower-division core in music theory/musicianship, piano, applied lessons, ensembles, and music electives
•Designed for students preparing for transfer or building a foundation in performance, composition, theory, music technology, business, or education
•Applied one-on-one lessons are available in voice, composition, piano, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, and related areas
Performance & Production
•Ensemble options include choirs, vocal jazz, jazz ensemble, jazz combos, chamber orchestra, instrumental chamber music, and improvisation lab
•Students perform, compose, produce, and participate in on-campus and community events throughout the semester
•The Hawks Nest recording studio supports student recording and production work
Facilities & Transfer
•All-Steinway School with a Steinway Spirio recording/editing piano
•New recording studio and keyboard lab scheduled to open in Spring 2027
•LPC music alumni have transferred to UCLA, the New School, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Berklee, and other music programs
