Training
•The eight-course dance minor combines dance studies, choreography, technique and technical production
•Required courses are DANC 105, DANC 215 and DANC 227, plus two dance-technique courses and DDF 300 Technical Production
•Students choose two further courses from options including Labanotation, Screendance, Dance Kinesiology, choreography and directed teaching
Performance & Creative Work
•Fall and spring dance concerts provide opportunities to perform and develop original choreography
•Concert auditions are participation and casting processes rather than admission gates
•Faculty give dance majors and minors priority when selecting student choreography proposals
Pathway Flexibility
•The minor offers focused dance study without the major's six-technique-course requirement or senior capstone
•Interdisciplinary options include Union of Music and Dance and Screendance
