PERFORMANCE & PRODUCTIONS
•Fall and spring major dance concerts featuring original choreography by faculty and students
•Shaffer Dance Studio as dedicated home for dance students
•Curriculum spans choreography, dance history, kinesiology, Labanotation and screendance
•Both technical practicum and performance practicum required
•Six dance technique courses required, repeatable for credit
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
•Major creative or scholarly project developed with faculty guidance
•Oral discussion of the project with department faculty
•Six-hour written examination
•Distinction awarded based on performance across all three components
DEGREE FLEXIBILITY
•Liberal arts approach — courses open to all students in the college
•Up to two off-campus study courses accepted toward the major
•Kenyon L.A. — selective two-week immersion in the entertainment industry for rising juniors and seniors
