Training
•Bullet: The BS Performance Emphasis carries the same acting, directing, script-analysis, and applied-theatre core as the BA, but totals 48 credit hours against the BA's 42 by adding two required science or social-science courses, chosen from options such as Introduction to Cell Biology and Genetics, Physics and the Arts, or a psychology elective.
•Bullet: The Performance Emphasis itself layers three courses from Acting II-IV, Improvisation, Movement, and Dance for Musical Theatre onto the shared THEA 120/121/150/330/450 core, with small classes and faculty mentoring guiding audition material and résumé development.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Students can perform in multiple annual productions and gain experience in contemporary and classic work.
•Bullet: Coursework connects directly to rehearsals, showcases, and the Hager Performance Hall stage.
Professional Development
•Bullet: Regional theatre and community partnerships provide internship and networking opportunities beyond campus.
•Bullet: The added science and social-science coursework gives BS students an academic base for graduate study or careers outside performance alongside theatre.
