•Bullet: The BM Guitar Emphasis requires sixteen hours of Applied Music: Guitar plus Applied Music Literature: Guitar, Instrumental Methods, and Guitar Pedagogy, layered onto the degree's shared 22-hour theory, aural-skills, conducting, and history core.
•Bullet: Guitar majors complete four hours of Class Piano alongside their studio work and stand for a jury examination before the music faculty every semester.
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Emphasis students complete eight hours chosen from Kentucky Wesleyan Band, Kentucky Wesleyan Singers, or the Panther Pianists ensemble.
•Bullet: A junior recital and a senior recital give guitarists two formal capstone performances over the course of the degree.
Professional Development
•Bullet: Guitar Pedagogy coursework prepares graduates to run a private teaching studio alongside performance work.
•Bullet: The applied-literature and methods sequence targets performance careers, private instruction, and graduate-level guitar study.
