•Bullet: Brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba): solo work and/or contrasting etudes — memorization and accompaniment not required
•Bullet: Woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone): one solo — memorization and accompaniment not required
◦Sub-bullet: Suggested repertoire is contained in the OMEA contest list; compositions of equivalent difficulty may be substituted
•Bullet: Percussion: a solo on each of snare drum, percussion keyboard (mallets) and timpani, with proficiency in timpani tuning — accompaniment not required
•Bullet: Violin: one movement of a standard concerto and one movement of an unaccompanied Bach sonata or partita — performed from memory
•Bullet: Viola: two works contrasting in period and style (concerto or sonata movements, or separate works) — performed from memory
•Bullet: Cello: one movement of a standard concerto and one movement of a Bach solo suite (suggested) — performed from memory
•Bullet: Double bass: Marcello Sonata in E minor (two contrasting movements) or a work of comparable difficulty — memorization not required

•Bullet: Brass: major and chromatic scales, one octave required (two octaves optional)
•Bullet: Woodwinds: major and chromatic scales — from memory
•Bullet: Violin and viola: all major and minor scales and arpeggios, three octaves minimum — from memory
•Bullet: Cello: all major and minor scales, three octaves minimum — from memory
•Bullet: Double bass: all major scales, one octave minimum — from memory
•Bullet: Sight-reading is included for all instruments; percussionists sight-read on at least two instruments
