Audition Process
•Bullet: Call 908-737-4420 or email theatre@kean.edu to schedule
•Bullet: A specific time will be assigned after scheduling
•Bullet: Listed in-person sessions start at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Tuesdays
•Bullet: Confirmation email sent once appointment is set
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Three components: audition performance, interview, and writing sample
•Bullet: BA designers, technicians, stage managers, and generalists: prepare a portfolio with samples of art work, design projects, production photos, etc. Include labels and be ready to provide commentary regarding the significance of each item
•Bullet: Audition followed immediately by a 5-6 minute interview
•Bullet: Prior to your audition, you will be given a writing assignment, to be completed in the 15 minutes or so available
•Bullet: Out-of-state applicants may submit auditions virtually
•Bullet: NJ residents and current Kean students attend in person
