Training
•Bullet: The Production concentration requires 15 concentration credits split 9 credits of production coursework and 6 credits of Culture & Studies coursework, on top of the BA/BGS core (FMS 100, FMS 200, FMS 275 Foundations of Filmmaking Practice, FMS 340, a film-history course, and the FMS 485 Capstone)
•Bullet: Production electives include Intermediate Screenwriting, Animation, Cinematography, Post-Production, Sound Design, and Music Video Production
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: The department describes its mission as uniting "the inquiry of the academic with the practice and technique of the artist," pairing hands-on filmmaking with critical study
•Bullet: No application is required to declare the major; departmental honors are available with a 3.5+ GPA in major courses
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: Students may pursue the BA or the BGS degree, with the BGS carrying a different core-credit structure (16-21 credits) than the BA
