Training
•BA Music Performance string players study applied lessons on their primary instrument plus theory, aural skills, music history, conducting, and orchestration.
•Students may tailor coursework toward goals such as instrumental conducting or composition.
Performance & Productions
•String majors complete their ensemble requirement in the KWU String Orchestra, which has performed at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop and earned American Prize recognition.
•All string majors are invited to audition for the regional Salina Symphony Orchestra for a full-orchestra experience.
Professional Development
•Students perform in community concerts and regional tours through KWU’s ties to the Salina arts community.
