Training
•The Brass track within KWU's BA Music Performance major centers applied study on euphonium, French horn, trombone, trumpet, or tuba.
•The 2025–26 catalog requires Wind Ensemble participation, multiple levels of applied music, and focused brass musicianship study, alongside core work in theory, aural skills, history, pedagogy, conducting, and performance repertoire.
Performance & Productions
•Brass students perform in the KWU Wind Ensemble and can add Instrumental Ensemble, Athletic Band: The Howl, Jazz Ensemble, and other music experiences.
•KWU musicians also have opportunities to perform in campus concerts, regional tours, community functions, and collaborative productions with Theatre Salina and the Salina Symphony.
Professional Development
•The program combines applied lessons, recitals, ensemble work, internships, and conducting or orchestration options to prepare students for performance, teaching, accompaniment, arts administration, and related music careers.
