Training
•The Vocal track within KWU's BA Music Education (PreK-12) major develops vocal performance and teaching skills for PreK-12 licensure.
•The 2025–26 catalog combines Philharmonic Choir, applied voice, diction, advanced choral conducting, secondary choral methods, music theory, aural skills, history, and the Teacher Education curriculum.
Performance & Productions
•Vocal students perform in Philharmonic Choir and Wesleyan Chorale and can participate in musicals, operas, concerts, and community music opportunities.
•The department's partnerships with Theatre Salina, the Salina Symphony, and area youth programs provide hands-on performance and teaching experiences.
Professional Development
•Senior seminar, clinical practice, licensure preparation, and teaching-focused coursework help students build a professional portfolio and prepare for Kansas PreK-12 music education careers.
