Repertoire List
•Audition on your principal instrument — generally two contrasting works (one lyrical, one technical), which may be pieces, movements, or etudes
•Woodwinds (flute, clarinet, saxophone): two contrasting works, one lyrical and one technical
•Brass (horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba): two contrasting works, one lyrical and one technical
•Strings: two contrasting works (concerto movements, sonatas, solo works, etudes, or orchestral excerpts)
•Percussion: prepare a different work on each of three or more categories (snare, keyboard percussion, timpani, multi-percussion, hand/world drums, drum set) and sight-read on each
•Keyboard (piano/organ): prepare repertoire per the Keyboard Auditions guidelines
Scales & Technique
•Winds and brass: major scales up to 4 flats/4 sharps, plus a chromatic or full-range scale for trumpet and horn
•Strings: two 3-octave scales — one major and one melodic minor
Accompaniment
•An accompanist is provided for in-person auditions — bring clearly marked copies of your scores
