Audition Process
•Bullet: Apply for admission to Kansas State University, then complete the Music, Theatre, and Dance Future Student Form
•Bullet: You will be contacted to arrange an audition for music-major acceptance and scholarship consideration
•Bullet: An audition for studio placement is required to be admitted as a music major — you must be accepted into a teaching studio
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Audition at one of the Audition Days, or set up an individual/private or virtual/video audition
•Bullet: In-person auditions are not required but are highly valued
•Bullet: After published scholarship audition dates pass, private-lesson or online video auditions may be available if studio space remains
•Bullet: Accompanist provided for in-person auditions — bring clearly marked copies of your music
•Bullet: Live accompaniment preferred for online auditions; recorded accompaniment accepted
Decisions
•Bullet: Music Audition Day is Wednesday, February 3, 2027 — other area-specific audition dates are still TBA
•Bullet: Most departmental scholarship decisions are announced by May 1
