Audition Process
•Apply for admission to Kansas State University, then complete the Music, Theatre, and Dance Future Student Form
•You will be contacted to arrange an audition for music-major acceptance and scholarship consideration
•An audition for studio placement is required to be admitted as a music major — you must be accepted into a teaching studio
Audition Expectations
•Audition at one of the Audition Days, or set up an individual/private or virtual/video audition
•In-person auditions are not required but are highly valued
•After published scholarship audition dates pass, private-lesson or online video auditions may be available if studio space remains
•Accompanist provided for in-person auditions — bring clearly marked copies of your music
•Live accompaniment preferred for online auditions; recorded accompaniment accepted
Decisions
•2027 audition days will be announced in Fall 2026
•Most departmental scholarship decisions are announced by May 1
