Dance
AUDITION COMPONENTS
•Short ballet barre
•Ballet center combination
•Contemporary technique section
•Improvisation exercise to demonstrate creative and analytical skills
ATTIRE
•Neat, clean attire allowing clear observation of movement
•Hair secured off the face
•No large jewelry
TRANSFER STUDENTS
•May be asked for a short individual interview with evaluating faculty following the audition

•Electronic audition option available for students unable to attend in person

APPLICATION PROCESS
•Must first apply and be admitted to Jacksonville University
•Then audition for admission into the BA Dance degree program
•Rolling university admissions
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
•Must provide completed Report on Proficiency in English form
•TOEFL recommended but not required

AUDITION FORMAT
•Live audition during scheduled JU audition days
•Evaluated by two or three current faculty members
•Regional, state, or national dance recruitment events where JU participates also count as in-person auditions

ARTIST FELLOWSHIPS
•Based on both merit and need
•Range from full to partial tuition
•Awarded each year to incoming students
•Must apply for fellowship at same time as admission
