Scholarship Audition and Interview Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition and interview for scholarship consideration only; they are not required for program admission.

Songs

Optional Musical Theatre Song, 16-32 Bars

A cappella or bring and play your own track on your own device

Not required but available as an additional audition element

Monologues

Two Contrasting Monologues, 3 Min Total (Including Slate)

One dramatic and one comedic, OR one contemporary and one classical

Total time for slate and both monologues must not exceed 3 minutes

Present two contrasting monologues to a faculty panel (3 minutes total including slate)

Optional 16-32 bar musical theatre song (a cappella or bring your own track)

3-4 minute personal introduction covering your background, experience, and goals

Thousands of dollars awarded annually to Theatre majors

Awarded through audition and interview process

Renewal Requirements

Contribute significantly to each production during the academic year

Maintain 2.5 GPA per term, 2.5 overall, and 3.0 in THR courses

Remain enrolled in at least one Theatre course per term

Full-time student (12-hour minimum) with Theatre major
