SPEECH 2: contemporary from a modern play (1970-present day), max 1 min 30 sec

Material Guidance

Must be from published plays (not poems, novels, films, or TV scripts)

Application Logistics

Apply directly through Italia Conti; applicants cannot apply through UCAS

The application form requires a written statement, photograph, and the non-refundable audition fee

As checked 4 August 2026, the published 2025-26 Acting route is closed and a course-specific next-cycle link or deadline has not yet been published

Eligibility

Age 18+ by 31 August in year of entry (17+ from Scotland)

GCSE Grade 4+ in English and Maths (or equivalent)

64 UCAS points or non-standard entry assessed at audition

IELTS Level 6 for non-native English speakers

UK residency/study rights required for full programme

Enrollment

September start only

£275 deposit required upon acceptance; refundable within 14 days of payment, then held against outstanding balances and normally returned after course completion

Applicants may indicate interest in BA (Hons) Acting (Musical Theatre)

Applicants are automatically considered for the corresponding CertHE course

What's The Process

Audition Process

Submit a self-tape after completing the application form

Compile the required elements into one video file

Results are normally issued within 3-4 weeks of submission

A minority of applicants may be asked for a further tape or live-online redirection round

Audition Expectations

Successful first-round applicants are invited to recall

Depending on the course's requirements, recall may be online or in person (normally at Woking)

Activities may include partner work, speeches with redirection, improvisation, movement, voice, singing, and an interview
